The Barista League (baristaleague.com) designs amazing, creative events for professional baristas, all over the world. This book is intended to help others follow in their footsteps.
I designed the book, and did drawings for the dividers and first person narrative spreads. We did a printed version and a fixed layout .epub.
For the divider illustrations, they wanted to focus on objects from their traveling event kit.
We wanted to create a spread for each first-person narrative. When the photos started coming in, they were all really different: lighting, setting, pose, quality. A couple were Instagram squares, or had extra people. To unify them visually and create a heroic spread, I used the photos to create illustrations.
